COMMENTATING ON DONALD TRUMP’S RETURN TO OFFICE IN 2025


    • Tasked with creating a complete YouTube channel brand and a 5-minute pilot episode for a proposed series

    • Developed a channel aimed at making current affairs accessible and engaging for younger audiences (teens–young adults)

    • Combined commentary, analysis, and creative presentation to maintain viewer interest

    • Pilot episode explored Donald Trump’s 2024 election victory, covering his previous term, future policies, global impact, and public reactions

    • Incorporated dynamic visuals and original narration, using gameplay footage to maximise watch time and connect with the target demographic

    • The channel’s logo and visual identity were inspired by TED Talks

    • I had previously observed YouTube commentary videos that use gameplay footage to discuss current affairs.

    • This approach strongly inspired my concept, as I recognised that younger audiences engage more with visuals that feel familiar and relatable, such as gameplay.

    • My aim was to present factual, relevant information — focusing on key issues like policy impacts and audience relevance — rather than offering personal opinions

    • Designed the video to be visually dynamic, using frequent visual shifts, layered footage, and concise editing to sustain attention spans typical of younger viewers.

    • Incorporated gameplay footage as an engaging visual backdrop, balancing entertainment with informative commentary.

    • Applied clear on-screen graphics, text highlights, and smooth transitions to reinforce key information and maintain pacing.

    • Crafted the voiceover tone to be enthusiastic yet authentic.
